9mm and 45 rounds basic full metal jacket pros and cons 9mm pros >more ammo in a single clip > low recoil rounds > the price is cheaper than the 45 rounds. 9mm cons >high velocity rounds( there more than a possibilty it can go thru besides the inteded target} >you need to fire more rounds to subdue a well determined opponent. Case in point LAPD/ LA sheriff deputies c/o about this issue. That's why even the standard issue of LAPD/LA sheriffs are berretta 92FS= 9mm.. They will buy a 45 cal. pistol if they can afford. 45cal. pros > high stopping rounds > high stopping capability but low impact rounds 45 cal cons >moderate recoil > less volume of ammo in a single clip compared to a 9mm > ammo more expensive than a 9 mm For home defense and self protection i prefer a 45 cal.
